These are the shorter accounts of the early days of my preaching:
This is a log of my accounts of preaching:
Hey again, just posting some more updates on another day of open-air preaching on Friday night. I was able to go up once. The crowd was very hostile. I started doing the light show for a bit, and boom a stone was chucked at me. I then continued on to the Law. Some people were telling me to get down and calling me a hypocrite. Others were saying yeah I'm forgiven, but I still get drunk and do drugs(such damage the modern gospel has done) etc. There was maybe 20+ people, but many weren't listening very much. They still were able to hear, my voice was kind of giving away. I wish to learn more about using your diaphram instead of your throat when speaking, because when my voice is solid I can boom it quite loud. After I finished speaking, I was asked to do the dlite again and then I started talking to some people 1on1. Some time passed and kept talking 1on1 giving out some Gospel of Johns, tracts, etc. I then went back and was thinking about going up again, but I felt led by the Holy Spirit not to go up again. That is probably the first time that has happened. Afterwards we went and prayed for a bit at a Christian's house. It is good to see so many helpers come down with me. Yesterday(Saturday night), there was a friendship festival at Gage park here in Hamilton. This was a great oppurtunity to hand out tracts. We were able to hand out tons of the giant money tracts and give out titanics. One guy took 2 giant money tracts and I left him and continued on, but about a minute later he came running back asking for another one and then offered me money for them.(people sure love these tracts) Then on the way home my helpers did something I have never heard of or seen done before, I was quite shocked or something similar to that. We were driving around the down town city and the driver had the windows open. They saw people on the streets and would slow down and toss a tract out the window to them and would say read it. I would look back and see the person go and pick it up. They probably did this with about 15 tracts or so, it was interesting to see how many picked them up. So that is pretty much it for now, I may go out again tonight back to that festival to go tracting. These experiences are great and it is awesome to be able to be part of the Great Commission. God bless. Hey again, I went witnessing on Wed/Fri/Sat nights. I open-air preached Fri and Sat and didn't Wed, because there wasn't many people. Wednesday night I had 2 others helping out. We handed out tracts and split up to go group witnessing. There was some very open people, I was able to go through the whole Gospel message, give them Gospel of Johns, some more in depth tracts and my email. Fri night I open-air preached 3 different times. I had a total of 6 helpers. The first time I open-air preached there was a bunch of gothic teens around and right away they left, so many individuals sitting by themselves got to here. After that I handed out tracts, did the intelligence survey with a bunch of different people. Then the second time There was a good amount of people, I preached right near the buses, so the buses had stopped and their windows were open so even the people on the buses heard. Then I went a third time and someone yelled at pretty loud shut the up, but kept going on and talked to a listener afterwards. There were many interesting sites Fri. night, 1 person got arrested, then a fight broke up in front of me, so my friend gave me his cell phone and I called 911, and boom the police came and arrested someone else. Then this weird guy came up to us(I am certain he may of been demon possessed), he was in bare feet, had one patch of gray hair on the back of his head and a bandana tied around his bald head, he came and asked for a match to light his cigarette and then he took out some matches and lit them. Then he said I don't like cops and went up to them and started causing trouble or something. Sat night was heckler city! I went on a hill top and stood on my box, I think there was at least 5 hecklers or something. Some of them would shout out at the same times and they were quite angry. The worst one(worst I've had yet) said he was a Christian(I doubt that greatly, sounded like he was in a cult by his speaking and how he avoided the Church he went to, but he kept referring to his leader, etc.) He said I had no right to be speaking, he said get down here, he said I have no authority from Jesus, he said statements sounding similar to being perfect to have the authority to do this, he wouldn't be quiet at all, he said just live the life and be an example. I was able to say enough in the open-air, but I would have preferred to say more, I forgot to tell my helpers(9 in all I believe) not to argue with the hecklers, they just didn't like to see so many picking on me, so once the arguements broke out I eventually just stopped and started talking one on one. That one cult heckler or whatever you want to call him stayed and argued with my helpers for so long, I just told him my testimony and went to other people. Then my helpers went across and witnessed on their own and I went up to 2 guys. I gave them million dollar bill tracts then showed them the curved illusion, they were so amazed. Then I did the light show for them. Then they did the curved illusion for some stranger, then I did the light show for that stranger, then he called his friends over and I gave them all tracts and the strangers left. I witnessed to these 2 guys for a good while, they were very open, gave them a Gospel of John each(pocketpower.org if you want Gospels of John) and talked for a bit. These 2 guys I witnessed to may have been the best experience for small group witnessing I have ever had. -By the way each Gospel of John I give has my email, a court tract and a card with information in regards to the Church I attend. After I finished talking with those guys we went home. All together in the three days maybe 120-200 people heard the Gospel from myself. With my helpers as well I could not be so sure how many more. It was very good for learning for myself and for all my helpers. My helpers were able to give away so many of those giant money tracts on the Fri. night. It is good to see the other brethern with such a heart for the lost. I think I will continue to do this every Fri. and it would be nice to do it each Sat. and Wed. as well, but I shall see with how things go. Praise God that so many got to hear the Gospel and that so many seeds were able to be scattered. Well I hope this can encourage you to keep doing whatever you are doing to reach out to the lost. God bless. Hey my brethren I just got back about 40 min ago or so from witnessing tonight. So from about 7:00pm-12:30am or so, it was great. I went to open-air and got through the basics of everything and then some police came and told me I had to stop because there was a complaint. I guess some ladies on the benches in front of me complained to them. So I handed out tracts for a bit and waited a good while and went back there and open-air preached again. The group was about 10 people and they asked questions along the way, but there were people behind me as well(waiting for buses) etc. listening to the message. The place where I open-air preach happens to be the main bus area of the city. Then afterwards we just did small group witnessing. There were four other brethren with me that helped out. I plan to do this probably every Friday, and then I will think about what I'll do for the winter, maybe door to door or try to get a permit for the mall. That is what the police also said that I needed a permit to do this, but I will see in the future, because I think that it will be ok to keep going on and just to be wise to maybe change places if police approach or people complain. It was so awesome to do this again, it's so great to sow the Word of God and see people humbled and convicted. Many mouths were stopped and you can see the seriousness in their eyes, to the point of tears, it is amazing. Got to give out a few of the pocketpower Gospel of Johns as well and some of the people there may end up coming to our Church which would be pretty cool as well. So if it is possible I would ask that you could pray for this weekly, the open-air and group witnessing, etc. God bless! I open-air preached yesterday and man it was awesome. This was my 4th time doing it so far. I had one Christian brother who came along with me. I basically did some dlite stuff then said cockroaches hate light, let's see if you do and went on from there. I got to preach sin, righteousness and judgement to so many. There were tons of hecklers. One guy kept saying all kinds of stuff and tried to stop me from speaking and boom a huge crowd came of around 50 or so? I got to answer some of the heckler's questions and went right back to preaching about sin, repentance, etc. Some new people would come and I got to ask them if they considered themselves to be a good person and I just kept going, maybe for 15 min? Then I decided to stop and said if anyone has any questions, comments, etc. I'll be right here and about 20 people stayed and huddled around me asking stuff. Some people were angry, others had tears in their eyes and it was easy to tell they were convicted. I got to give out some tracts to the people and told them to be ready, that you could even die on your way home and reasoned with them for their need to get right with God now. Then after some of those people left, I witnessed to small groups of people. (By the way 2 Christian brethern of mine happened to come, reinforcements!) So we all just group witnessed to different people. I got to talk to some younger mid-teens, and they were all convicted as well, I told them that they need to confess their sins to God, tell Him the wrong you have done and ask Him for forgiveness. Put Him on like a parachute and read the Bible daily and obey what you read. After that, I just went to maybe one-two people at a time and witnessed to them and then eventually almost everyone had left. About 1 hour and a half had passed I would estimate. Then we just talked to about 3-4 people who stayed, but it was mainly just intelligent stuff, so we decided to leave soon after. It was an awesome night, got to do much prayer beforehand and afterhand. I was so terrified at first, so afraid that noone would listen, but wow, God sent so many people. Praise God! I can't wait to do this again! Here is an add-on of the first 3 times I open-air preached. The first two times I open-air preached I did trivia questions to gain a crowd. I gave one dollar for each question that the crowd would answer correctly and the more questions I asked the larger the crowd became. I was able to share the whole Gospel message and do an easy switch from the trivia to the Gospel message. I would say does anyone know why we die? Then say don't go yet I will be giving away five dollars at the end. This was a very good experience for my first time. Maybe 20 people could hear me? I cannot remember exactly. The second time I went up open-air preaching I was able to just about finish the triva questions. The box I was standing on collasped. I feel right through and over on the ground. Quite painful indeed. This was quite the humbling experience! The third time was at the Chinese New Years Festival in Toronto. This has been the only time I did not stand on anything when I open-air preached(out of 11 times so far). I used mostly illusions this time when I was speaking. It was a shorter message, but it was encouraging to keep a dozen or so people to listen. Open-air preaching is such a growing experience! I preach in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. So far I've preached a total of 17 times, almost all of them in this city. I went out today and preached twice. I go to the bus center of the city; where most of the city buses stop at. I brought a brother with me and a "so called brother"( I have doubts about this fellow), they just come to watch. I just had to work it out well so that in the middle of preaching the people wouldnt leave on the bus. I preached sin, righteousness and judgement and gave out many tracts afterwards. No heckling and only 1 guy came up to me. The only negative thing said was that some rebellious youth wanted to take my "soapbox" and smash and destroy it. I think it went pretty well. Maybe 20-30 people heard each time? That's all for now, God bless. Went preaching last night. Went on the elevated ground and then on my "box" on top of that. It went alright. Someone yelled shut up right away. No heckling or anything. Maybe 15-20 people directly near, but maybe 10-20 others could hear from a bit of a distance. The buses didnt come too often, so it was easier to go longer. Gave out about a dozen tracts afterwards. I think I may have found a faithful brethern who wants to grow in his evangelism who will want to come with me regularly. This was his first time to come with me. Hopefully we will be out again next Saturday evening at Gore Park. God bless. I went preaching on Sunday. It was a different kind of preaching than what I normally do, much different in fact. I preached at an outside hockey rink in front of my house. There was about 12-16 people there i think. I was very very afraid, much more than usual, because I could think of many reasons not to go. Thankfully a brother from here gave me some encouraging verses from Ezekiel 2. I came home from church and it was nighttime. I just looked at them all from my window. I felt such a conviction to go. I kept trying to reason it. It drove me to much prayer. Finally I went out. Walked up, but then walked away and walked around the block. Eventually I walked up and was just watching them and put my knee on the bench. Then I just went up and did it. I told them all I would be speaking for a few minutes and they could choose to listen or not. I just spoke about sin, righteousness and judgement and eventually went into the Gospel. They threw some snowballs at me, but missed. They seemed quite angry and were yelling some things and some told me to be quiet. Some actually started to walk away in the snow on their skates, but soon after that I was done. So I finished and left and was encouraged and prayed. Naturally it didn't appear to go well by any means. But all I know is if I didn't do it I would have felt great guilt and disobedience. I'm just happy I'm obeyed, praying God would use His Word, which was spoken. |
